Now, with Mark Millar’s return to the title, it gets really good. The first arc collected here is the Marvel Zombies story, which was so good it has already sparked a red-hot sequel miniseries. The second is an interesting take on the Sub-Mariner, and while it’s not quite up to the level of the Zombie arc, it still holds one’s interest. The art is by Greg Land, and while I don’t much care for his over-use of barely-digested photo-reference, this is the least bothered I’ve been by his art—and of course some people love it. With Ultimate FF, Marvel Knights Four, and the reinvigorated main FF book (thanks to Waid & Wieringo and now J. Michael Straczynski), it’s a great time to be an FF fan—or to become one.
